Biography
Jiyoon Kim is a PhD student in Cinema and Media Studies. Her research examines the shock, pleasure, and anxiety of speed, focusing on video games as a medium through which contemporary algorithmic and computational environments become perceptible and experiential. Outside of research, she enjoys fumblecore, FPS, and fighting games, B-horror movies, and Korean classical cinema.
